Darrell Pilant Named Vice President of Operations for Grand Casino Resort in Tunica TUNICA, MS – November 29, 2005 – Harrah’s Entertainment Mid-South is pleased to announce Darrell Pilant as the new Vice President of Operations at Grand Casino Resort. Pilant comes to the Mid-South from Harrah’s properties in southern Louisiana. His responsibilities at Grand Casino Resort will include overseeing table games and slot operations, as well as the customer satisfaction assurance department. Pilant began with Harrah’s Entertainment in 1998 as a First Mate at Harrah’s Casino and Hotel, North Kansas City, and has held positions of increasing responsibilities throughout his developing career within the Company. At North Kansas City, he moved up to eventually become Slot Shift Manager. Accepting a move to Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans, he became the Assistant Director of Slots and eventually the Director of Table Games. From New Orleans, he transitioned to Harrah’s Casino and Hotel, Lake Charles, Louisiana where he served as the Director of Casino Operations. Pilant comes to the Mid-South from his most recent position as Vice President of Casino Operations at Harrah’s Lake Charles property. “We are very pleased to have Darrell join the executive management team at Grand,” said Patrick Browne, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Grand Casino Resort. “Darrell’s extensive background in slot and table games operations, as well as his passion for the business, makes him a strong addition to our property.” Pilant is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York and was a licensed merchant officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for ten years. To this day, he maintains his status as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Pilant is in the process of relocating to the Mid-South. |
