New Regional Director of Employment for Harrah’s Entertainment
Juanita Hill-Kennedy appointed Regional Director of Employment and Recruiting for Harrah’s Entertainment Mid-South

TUNICA, MS – September  2006 – Harrah’s Entertainment has appointed Juanita Hill-Kennedy as director of employment and recruiting for the Mid-South region.|
Hill-Kennedy is a highly experienced and accomplished employment and recruiting leader with over 20 years in human resources, with the last seven years with Harrah’s Entertainment. As the regional director of recruitment and employment, she is responsible for managing the staffing functions for the Grand Casino Resort, Horseshoe Casino & Hotel and Sheraton Casino & Hotel.
Hill-Kennedy is also involved in identifying sources of employees, proper placement of applicants and partnering with property operations and human resources managers to develop, monitor and ensure on-boarding and retention programs are successfully in place.
Prior to her recent move to Tunica, Hill-Kennedy served as the HR manager for Grand Biloxi where she was instrumental in the staffing and training of the more than 1,500 employees who reopened the Biloxi property on August 17, 2006. Immediately following Hurricane Katrina, Hill-Kennedy spearheaded the company-wide effort to find placements for Katrina-affected employees at Harrah's properties.
“Juanita possesses an extensive background in virtually all facets of hospitality and casino recruiting and has earned the distinction of being a rigorous and results-oriented recruitment leader. I'm confident that she will build a strong and innovative regional employment and recruiting capability,” said Jerry Boone, Regional Vice President of Human Resources.
Before beginning her tenure with Harrah’s Entertainment, Hill-Kennedy was the director of Human Resources for the Holiday Inn Downtown Superdome in New Orleans and prior to that she managed the Human Resources function for the Westin Canal Place Hotel in New Orleans.
Hill-Kennedy attended the University of New Orleans where she studied Business. She has professional affiliations with the Society of Human Resources Management Association and the Hotel Motel Association.

Horseshoe Welcomes Brad Hirsch As Director of Slot Operations

TUNICA, MS – August  2006 – Harrah’s Entertainment is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Hirsh as Horseshoe’s Director of Slot Operations.

Brad has been with Harrah’s Entertainment since 2003, most recently serving as Central Division Vice President of Customer Satisfaction Assurance. Throughout his career at Harrah’s, Brad has developed CSA training programs, tools and capabilities for nine Central Division properties, as well as developed several tools and programs to ensure that our guests are receiving exceptional customer service.

As Director of Slot Operations, Brad will be focused on creatively driving operational efficiency, building departmental synergies, as well as improving CSA and EOS/SFS scores for slots at the two casinos.

“I’m proud to have Brad take on this role and join the Horseshoe family,” said Warren Pan, Vice President of Slot Operations. “His extensive background and many years of experience working with Harrah’s made him the perfect candidate for the position. I am confident he will be a valuable asset to our team.”

Brad is a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where he received his Master of Business Administration degree in 2003. Brad also obtained his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.

Grand Casino Resort Names Vice President of Hotel Operations and
Vice President of Food & Beverage

TUNICA RESORTS, MS –  – Harrah’s Entertainment is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Brown to Vice President of Hotel Operations and Bob Schweitzer to Vice President of Food & Beverage.

Rob Brown: Rob most recently held the position of Director Hotel and Spa Operations at Grand Casino Resort. Before joining the Grand team, Rob held several management-level positions within Harrah’s Entertainment including Assistant Hotel Manager at Harrah’s Prairie Band and Hotel Manager at Harrah’s Lake Charles and Harrah’s Tunica.

As Vice President of Hotel Operations, Rob’s responsibilities include overseeing the operations of the property’s three hotel, spa, and laundry operations and a staff of 200. Rob also will be tasked with recommending and implementing changes to improve guest and employee satisfaction and participating in the financial operating and capital planning processes for the hotel. He will also be responsible for the strategic direction of hotel and spa operations for the casino.

Rob attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. He is the current president of the North Mississippi Hotel and Lodging Association. Rob now lives in Southaven with his wife and two children.

Bob Schweitzer: Bob has been serving has Director of Food & Beverage for Grand Casino Resort since joining the Grand team in 2005. Prior to that, he held the position of Director of Food & Beverage at Harrah’s East Chicago. Before joining the Harrah’s team, Bob held Director of Hotel Operations positions at the Gold Strike Casino – Tunica, Peabody Hotel – Memphis, and the Boca Raton Resort & Club – Florida.

In his new role, Bob’s responsibilities include overseeing the operations of all casino restaurants and hotel room service, Convention Center banquets and team member dining rooms. He also will be tasked with assisting in the development of quality control procedures, developing and implementing service, operating and product processes and procedures on a property-wide basis.

As a Chicago native, Bob attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana and the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. He now lives in Cordova with his wife and three children.
