GEORGE P. CORCHIS, JR. TO OVERSEE GOLD STRIKE OPERATIONS
TUNICA, Miss. - George P. Corchis, Jr., president and chief operating officer of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino has also assumed responsibilities for Gold Strike Casino & Hotel, MGM MIRAGE’s wholly owned subsidiary in Tunica, Miss. As president and chief operating officer of MGM MIRAGE’s Mississippi resorts, he will now oversee strategic direction and operations for both Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, and Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica.
George returned to MGM MIRAGE in September 2005 where he previously served in a financial capacity with the Mirage Resort & Casino in the early 1990s. He is currently leading Beau Rivage through reconstruction and the reopening of the property, after the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina.
“George’s depth and breath of leadership experience in the region where these two properties are located provide invaluable insight in managing these operations,” said Mirage Resorts President and CEO Bobby Baldwin. “His background and expertise will be instrumental in guiding Gold Strike to new successes.”
Most recently, Corchis served in a dual role for Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. as senior vice president and general manager of the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel and the Sheraton Casino & Hotel, both in Tunica, Miss. Prior to that, Corchis spent 11 years working for Jack Binion, and is the only executive to serve in key leadership positions at each of the three Horseshoe properties outside Nevada.
