Bill Wright Named Senior VP/General Manager of Horseshoe and Sheraton in Tunica

TUNICA, MS – October 26, 2005 – Harrah’s Entertainment Mid-South is pleased to welcome Bill Wright as the new Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Horseshoe and Sheraton operations.  Wright comes to the Mid-South from Harrah’s properties on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Wright has held management positions within Caesar’s Entertainment (now Harrah’s Entertainment) since 1987.  He most recently served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Grand Casino Biloxi, a position he has held since the Caesar’s merger with Harrah’s in June of 2005.  He was the Executive Vice President and General Manager at the Grand Casino Gulfport from July of 2003 to June 2005.  Prior to his term on the Gulf Coast, Wright was the Vice President of Hotel Operations at Bally’s Las Vegas from November 2001 to July 2003.  Wright also served as Senior Vice President – General Manager at the Flamingo Reno and Reno Hilton and held other senior management positions at each property for six years, beginning in March 1996.

Wright began his 20-year career as manager of hotel convention services at the Salt Lake City Hilton in February of 1985.  He moved to the Flamingo Hilton Las Vegas in January 1987, where he held various management positions through March 1996.  During his management tenure there, the popular center-Strip resort more than doubled its hotel guest room inventory and underwent major renovations, including the addition of a five-acre tropically themed garden with tiered lagoon swimming pools and wildlife habitat.

“We are very fortunate to be able to bring an executive with Bill’s passion, experience, leadership, integrity and commitment to both employees and guests to the Mid-South region,” said Michael St. Pierre, President of the Mid-South Region.  “Bill is a highly visible leader who builds relationships with players and employees alike.”

Highly active in the community, Wright was named Campaign Chairman for the United Way of South Mississippi prior to Hurricane Katrina and was the Casino Chair for the 2004 United Way Campaign.  He served as Chairman of the Greater Gulfport Boy’s & Girl’s Club in 2005, was a Board Member in 2004 and was named Outstanding Volunteer by the Boy’s & Girl’s Club for his work at the Greater Gulfport Unit in 2004.  Wright also was the Treasurer of the Gulf Coast Gaming Association, a role in which he served from 2004 to 2005.  Additionally, he serves on the University of Southern Mississippi Business Advisory Council and has been a volunteer for Junior Achievement since 2004.

Wright was a member of the 2001 Board of Directors for the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra, which serves the communities of Reno, Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas. At the Flamingo Las Vegas, he was the resort’s United Way Campaign Coordinator from 1992 through 1995 and a United Way Loaned Executive in 1992.

From 1992 – 1995 and in 2003, he served as a Mentor for the Hotel Mentor Program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Recognizing his work with the young professionals, the University of Nevada Las Vegas named Wright its 1994 Mentor of the Year.

In 1990, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and in 2000 he received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nevada Reno.

He and his family have recently relocated to the Mid-South.

Horseshoe Dresses Up
In the coming months, you’ll see a number of improvements around Horseshoe as we continue to improve the No. 1 gaming destination in the Mid-South.

Bluesville™ Showcase Nightclub
Bluesville is the hottest ticket in town, so we’re adding more than 300 club-style seats tiered from the second-floor Founders Club. Still cozy and intimate, this controlled-access VIP area will be the Mid-South’s most sought-after ticket. Bluesville will reopen with a performance by the Blues Brothers in June. Click for Entertainment calendar.

New Stage Bar
The Stage Bar is also getting a facelift. It’s become such a favorite spot to relax and enjoy live music that we’re increasing its size with added seats and a larger stage.

New Poker Room
Horseshoe helped to put poker on the map and its popularity has never been greater. In response, we’re creating a new poker room, scheduled to open in mid-May. The new space will allow for 16 poker tables with an adjacent service and snack bar. The existing poker room will be converted into a slot area with more of your favorite slots.

Jack Binion’s Steak House
Horseshoe’s signature fine dining experience will be closed later this spring as we install new carpet and a new ceiling. Plus, we’re enlarging the private dining area. Jack Binion’s Steak House will reopen near the end of May.

Slot Bar
The new-look Slot Bar will be complete in early May.
