It is through masterful guitar work and strong vocals that Stacy Mitchhart a.k.a. “The Blues Doctor” has achieved success in his career. Mitchhart, currently has the house gig at Nashville’s famed Printer’s Alley Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar. Mitchhart is currently promoting his latest CD, Midnight Breeze, an album co-produced by Mitchhart and Jerrod Cring. Nine of the 12 songs on the 2003 release were written or co-written by Mitchhart and the album’s tracks have been described as everything from “contemporary” to “jazz” to “pure Southern soul.” A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchhart took up residency in Nashville in 1996, “Moving to Nashville has been fantastic. I lived in Los Angeles and New York and made a good living, but I’ve played with cats here that I wouldn’t have been able to (play with) anyplace else – James Brown, Keb’ Mo, Stephen Stills, Gatemouth Brown, Joe Sample and other cats like that. I even played with John Entwhistle of The Who,” Mitchhart says. “I’m a Yankee in Nashville doing the most non-country thing I can.” Mitchhart’s talents have earned him a surplus of music awards including the Albert King Most Promising Guitarist Award and Electric Blues Act of the Year, Blues Entertainer of the Year, Blues Vocalist of the Year and Blues Guitarist of the Year among others.
