TUNICA, MS – May 9, 2006 – This fall, Dillon Bryan will begin college courses at The University of Mississippi thanks in part to a scholarship from the Phil and Jennifer Satre Harrah’s Employee Scholarship Fund. Dillon is one of seven college-bound high school seniors from across the country selected from a pool of nearly 160 applicants to receive a scholarship from the Satre Scholarship Fund. Each recipient has a parent who has worked for a Harrah’s Entertainment property or subsidiary for at least three years. Dillon’s mother, Lisa Bryan, is a Beverage Server at Horseshoe Casino & Hotel Tunica. “I am so proud of Dillon for setting such high goals and accomplishing so much at his young age,” said Lisa Bryan. “I hope that he will always strive to challenge himself, because with his knowledge and personality, he can accomplish anything.” Established in 2003 by Phil Satre, former chairman and chief executive officer of Harrah’s Entertainment, and his wife, Jennifer, the Harrah’s Employee Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to college-bound children of Harrah’s employees. Requirements for the scholarship include financial need, high school academic performance, SAT or ACT scores, community and school activities, and essay content and quality. The fund awards $1,000 to $5,000 annual scholarships that can be renewed for up to four years.
