TUNICA, Miss. (June 12, 2006) - Gold Strike Casino Resort, a wholly owned subsidiary of MGM MIRAGE, announced the appointment of Holly M. Gagnon as the resort’s new president. She is responsible for all operations of the 1,200-room resort. “Holly’s background and experience in the region are a tremendous asset for Gold Strike,” said Gold Strike COO George Corchis. “Her leadership and expertise will play a key role in transforming MGM MIRAGE’s newest addition into one of the South’s premier resorts.” Gagnon brings over 20 years of professional knowledge and accomplishments in strategic management, business operations, finance and gaming to the Gold Strike. Most recently she served as Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc.’s vice president of Finance for the Central Division and regional vice president of Finance for the Mid South Region in Tunica, Miss. Prior to that, she has held several key leadership positions for Harrah’s including vice president of Finance for North Kansas City and at Harrah’s Shreveport. Gagnon also served as the assistant general manager and vice president of casino operations at Harrah’s Shreveport and Louisiana Downs properties. “I have admired MGM MIRAGE for years as they have led the way in creating spectacular facilities and indulgent experiences for their guests,” said Holly Gagnon, Gold Strike president. “Gold Strike is already the most elegant casino in Tunica. Gagnon began her gaming career in the early ‘90s at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Leyard, Conn., where she served as director of financial accounting, director of systems development and executive director of finance. During her professional career, Gagnon has served in many management and leadership capacities for Price Waterhouse in Hartford, Conn., Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, Springfield, Mass. and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Honolulu, Hawaii. Gagnon holds a master’s degree in business administration from Chaminade University in Honolulu and a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Bentley College, Waltham, Mass. She is a Certified Public Accountant and an active board member of the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis. |
