Sax Man Clarence Clemons With a career spanning three decades, Clarence Clemons is widely known for the distinctive saxophone sound that he has contributed to bands such as his own Red Bank Rockers, the Jerry Garcia Band, The Grateful Dead, and Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band. However, for the past twenty years he has been most widely revered as a faithful member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. Some have deemed it the greatest rock and roll band in the world, and Clemons one of its star players. In the spring of 1999, he reunited with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for a sold-out world tour that lasted almost two years. Clemons has collaborated with artists in almost all genres, from blues and pop to country. His discography is large and varied, having recorded albums with such notable musicians as Aretha Franklin, Paul Young, Great White, Roy Orbison, and Patti Labelle. He also continues to add to his acting resume in both television and theatre. He has appeared in television series such as “Nash Bridges”, and UPN’s “The Sentinel” and “The Viper”. He has also had featured roles in such as “Fatal Instinct”, “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”, and “Blues Brothers 2000”. Clemons is currently expanding his creativity by writing scripts as well as musical composition.
