Mississippi Gulf Coast Casino Updates on Openings Beau Rivage - A wholly owned subsidiary of MGM Mirage, the Beau Rivage has made an investment of more than $750 million to re-open the resort on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Now Open Casino Magic Biloxi - Closed - Bought by Harrah's See Proposed Grand Gulfport - Sold to Copa Owners Will Reopen as Islandview (see below) Palace Casino Resort - NOW OPEN Treasure Bay Casino Biloxi - NOW OPEN - Treasure Bay Casino - Treasure Bay reopened June 21 with 81 slot machines and a restaurant lounge. The company has spent $27 million acquiring property around its casino and now controls 30 acres. Treasure Bay is also spending $25 million to upgrade its hotel and put a temporary casino inside it. The property will be fully operational by October 2006, with an additional 450 slots, 22 table games a second restaurant and 250 hotel rooms. Boomtown Casino Biloxi - NOW OPEN Imperial Palace Biloxi Now Called The "IP" NOW OPEN - The first casino to reopen following Hurricane Katrina featuring 956 newly furnished hotel rooms and suites, 1,900 slots and video poker games, 54 table games, a non-smoking 16-table poker room, restaurants, shopping, and nightclubs. Island View Resort and Casino is scheduled to open September 18th, 2006 Grand Casino Biloxi - NOW OPEN - Grand Casino Biloxi Hotel and Spa is proud to announce its grand opening Thursday, August 17, 2006. The casino will open to the public at 9 PM pending all regulatory approvals. The Grand Biloxi has nearly completed the hiring process for its planned 1500 employees. 95% of employees hired to date are returning employees from Grand Casino properties in Biloxi and Gulfport, as well as the Harrah’s Entertainment Mid-South Service Center. Will open 500 hotel rooms, a full service spa, 800 slot machines and 20 table games August 17, 2006, in the former Grand Casino Bayview Hotel. Isle of Capri Biloxi - NOW OPEN Isle of Capri Casino Resort - The resort features a 700 room and 200 suites hotel, restaurants, 1,100 slot machines, 27 table games, a new poker room, spa, pool and more. President - Not Re-Opening Silver Slipper - The Silver Slipper Casino will be located on the former Bayou Caddy site in Hancock County. The expected opening date is mid-October 2006. PROPOSED Bacaran Bay Casino Resort - $500 million project, owned and operated by Torguson Gaming Group, with anticipated completion date in the fall of 2008. 638 room all suite hotel; 432 one and two bedroom condominiums; Arnold Palmer signature 18-hole championship golf course; 40 lane bowling alley; and six movie theaters. The Broadwater, a $1 billion project will consist of 2 casinos, 3,375 condo units, 1,900 hotel rooms, 180 acre 18 hole golf course, 585,000 sq ft retail entertainment space, 125,000 sq ft gaming floor, 104,000 sq ft convention space, and a marina. Golden Nugget -Landrys, the operator of the Golden Nugget brand, has purchased land in the Point Cadet area of Biloxi for this resort. Harrah's Entertainment - Harrah's acquired the Casino Magic Biloxi property next to the Grand Casino Biloxi south of Highway 90 to expand its developable resort site. Harrah's' is investing $1 billion in a new "best in class" casino property. An announcement is due in July regarding the final plans for this project. Isle of Capri - The Isle recently announced plans to develop a $250 million to $300 million development in western Harrison County near Interstate 10 with a minimum of 500 rooms. Trump Properties - A joint venture between Trump and Diamondhead Casino Corporation would cover a minimum of 40 acres on the north shore of the Bay of St. Louis near Diamondhead. Diamondhead Casino Corp. owns over 400 acres of land near Diamondhead. |
